![]() *raised only with top pair or better in position *Would occassionally give up on the turn or river with his donk bluffs *Donk 50% of flops for value and for bluffs Yesterday I played a guy with the following tendencies: I've run into a lot of these types in the last couple of days with the variation that they donk a ton of flops around 50% with any pair, including top pair, ace or king high on a dry board and some semibluffs and some naked bluffs. Here's a Dockerfile that works for me (you'll also need monitc and pokerthserver files, code below): FROM ubuntu:eoan RUN apt-get -y update RUN apt-get -y install monit pokerth-server sudo RUN groupadd -g 4000 pokerth RUN useradd -ms /usr/sbin/nologin -u 4000 -g 4000 pokerth USER pokerth WORKDIR /home/pokerth RUN cp -r /usr/share/games/pokerth. I ended up with a small loss after 150 hands. I think part of the problem is that when I play someone like this I expect to be a richer man at the end of the session. When it doesn't happen I'm like wtf happened. I'm I so damn stupid I can't figure out how to beat a total fish. Namely some of these guys display good poker skills despite playing a style that is fishy.īut I think there is another factor at play here. The guy I played yesterday balanced all of his lines fairly well with the exception of his raises. His bluffing frequency on all streets was difficult to play against. raised only with top pair or better in position Would occassionally give up on the turn or river with his donk bluffs Donk 50 of flops for value and for bluffs Yesterday I played a guy with the following tendencies: I've run into a lot of these types in the last couple of days with the variation. He value bet correctly and could read the value of his high card hands on various textures effectively and act accordingly. I ended up with a small loss after 150 hands. I see 90% limp frequency and low aggression and I think total fish. At the very low limits it may be difficult to beat the rake against such a "showdown poker" player.īTW one of the reasons I think limping more and playing pot control against these guys is a good idea is that even when you sacrifice a small edge, you decrease the likelihood that they win several big pots and decide to quit you. If they feel like they are grinding you down by winning small pots, I think they are much more likely to think they are doing something right and keep going, because they are easily deceived into thinking that winning lots of pots is the same as winning a lot of money.Īnd yes, these guys are definitely fish, but you have to adjust properly to them and really think in terms of hand ranges. You should be able to know when to make a Q high calldown in one hand but not take A high to showdown in another. There is also a fair amount of variance because even though the pots really shouldn't get large unless you have a very strong hand, your short term results will be heavily affected by who is catching better cards.Īlso, you should keep track of how frequently they are autobetting flop and turn when you just check/call the flop. These can be the type of players where you should wait to raise all of your good hands on the turn if your opponents will afford you the luxury of them never taking a free card. Surely the "ignore button" would be the simplest solution to not even allow the "amok players" into an own game/table. Thank's you for your answer, thoughts, ideas and possible way for solutions. I think that's what Lacrimosa wants to achieve with her "slow plays", and what's WEC actually does through invite-only plays. Personally, I do use the "Ignore player" fort chat (which gives some funny chatboxes sometimes, as you can read reactions from an ignored player expression.)Ĭould be an idea to dig, even unperfect (you'd be relying on organising player's banned players list.). Maybe a feature, looking like the "ignore player in chat" one, to prevent unwanted players to join in the games you set up could be a mitigation ? ( not a solution, because of the same annoying player changing account.) My first reaction is "don't play with them", but the fact is you can't: even if you avoid the plays they're in, you can't prevent them from entering yours. The question is not easy to solve, and I don't think there is a "technical" or administrative solution. YoYoMaster has - Two Pair, Aces and Fives I continue to hope that the donks are sorted out. ![]() May u will write " history in poker" too.once 'inna day.with my skills ofc.may. Think about " reads"." timing"." bluphs". So where were the skills of the others.in 89 (!) more hands? Of course luck is part of poker, that's nothing new. So you're saying this was all just luck/bingo? ![]()
